The Stanford Cardinals made their first cross-country trip of the season for their first ACC matchup ever against the Syracuse Orange on Friday night. But it was their road uniforms that caught the attention of the majority of football fans.

Earlier in week, Stanford unveiled their new road helmets ahead of its ACC debut, a dark red helmet that is a stark difference from the traditional white helmet.

When the game kicked off, fans got a very good look at the helmet when Stanford wide receiver Elic Ayomanor came down with an unbelievable one-handed catch to get the Cardinals out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

It’s a much different look than most college football fans are used to — at least from Stanford. Fans took to social media to share their belief that the uniforms actually look extremely similar to Alabama’s road uniforms.

It’s not a bad look whatsoever. But when you look at a side-by-side of the uniforms from the two schools, the similarities are certainly there.

If Alabama is who Stanford was trying to emulate with this uniform combination, the Cardinal certainly did just that. And early on in the game, Stanford has even played a bit like Alabama as well, rushing for 132 yards in the first half which has gotten them out to a 13-10 lead going into the second half.
