    Springfield uses balanced attack, wins homecoming game over Campbell

    NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Host Springfield jumped out to an early lead Friday and never looked back as they downed visiting Campbell 37-8 in the Tigers’ homecoming game.

    Carson Cunningham had a 65-yard run for a score for the Tigers (3-2) in the third quarter while Dante Gentile had a 42-yard run for the Tigers in the fourth quarter for a score. Kaesen Kosek also had a 1-yard run for a score in the final quarter.

    Springfield scored first, leading 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and they tacked on two more points about midway through the second quarter to take a 9-0 lead over the visiting Red Devils (2-3).

    The Tigers led at half 17-0 on a 7-yard pass from Brayden Baird to Wyatt Kuboff. Campbell scored their lone points in the third quarter.

    Campbell will host Western Reserve in week six. Springfield will visit Jackson-Milton .
