Reliable Used Cars Lowest Maintenance Costs

After I wrote my articles about the most reliable cars and cars that can last over 500k miles or more several people commented that many cars will last a long time if they are properly maintained.

I thought this was an excellent point. I've decided to write another series of articles about the cheapest, easiest, and most expensive cars to maintain. I'm going to start with the cheapest cars to maintain.

I learned though that "cheapest to maintain" can actually mean a few things.

    1. Cheap to maintain because it rarely has any issues no matter how you treat it.

    2. Cheap to fix/maintain if something goes wrong.

So, starting with the first one,

Cheap to Maintain because they rarely break.

Of course Toyota and Honda both did well in this video. Both of them appeared in many other cheap to maintain car videos as well. As this video explains, they just don't have problems as often as other cars do. It is good to know that yearly maintenance for your average Toyota Camry or Honda Accura won't set you back more than $600 or so.

Cheap to Fix If Something Goes Wrong

This one is a bit of a Catch 22. Yes, these cars are cheap to fix if they break, but they are also more likely to break than say your average Toyota, Honda, or Subaru. But if you don't if you need a used car and those three aren't in the cards for whatever reason then these ten would be your best choice in terms of cheap repairs if something goes wrong with them.

Agree? Disagree? Leave a comment and let me know if you have had similar or different experiences with your used cars.
