On Thursday, Sept. 5, six of the seven Mille Lacs Raiders cross country athletes traveled to Pine City to compete against runners from Braham, Chisago Lakes, East Central, Foley, Hinckley-Finlayson, McGregor, Milaca, Mora, North Branch, Pierz, Rush City, Spectrum, Zimmerman, and Pine City.

In the junior high boys 2K (1.25 mile) race, David Carlson finished with a time of 11:48 in front of two other runners and beat his last time at this distance by two minutes.

In a field of 70 varsity girls, Kylie Lorentz finished the 5K in 25:54, improving her time by two minutes yet coming in the same place (57th) as the previous meet in Princeton.

Hunter Vaught led the way for the Raiders in the boys varsity 5K, coming

in 44th of 73 runners with a time of 20:21. His teammates followed a few minutes later. Micah Gray crossed the line at 22:38 (66th place), Josiah Mueller at 22:53 (69th place), and Cory Carlson at 26:43 (73rd place).
