Utah quarterback Cam Rising, expected to return Saturday vs Oklahoma State, has reportedly been made a game-time decision.

The Utes quarterback is expected to return to the Utah offense after suffering a hand injury and missing Week 3 against Utah State. However, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported Saturday morning he is not a sure start and will not be 100% if he does take the field.

Rising, who has dealt with several injuries over his seven seasons in college football , went down with a hand injury in the second quarter of Utah's Week 2 win vs. Baylor.

Here's a revisit to Rising's injury along with his status for Saturday's game at Oklahoma State:

Is Cam Rising playing today? Utah QB's status vs. Oklahoma State

After missing last week's rivalry game vs. Utah State, Rising was expected to play after his teammate — wide receiver Dorian Singer — confirmed this it earlier this week when he spoke with assembled media in Salt Lake City.

"He’s going to be ready to go this week," Singer said. "We’re expecting the same things as where he left off, even better. We’re expecting the whole offense to rally around him, all the guys rally around him, and we’re going to go out and get this thing."

However, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham wasn't as open in his comments as Singer on Rising's status earlier this week but did say there was "hope" they'd have Rising back.

"Boy, we hope so. We sure hope so That would be ideal," Whittingham said.

Rising will now be a game-time decision, per Thamel, who indicated Rising is expected is at least going to try to play. While it may be obfuscation on Utah's part after Singer's confirmation of his return, it's clear Rising's hand is not yet 100%.

    Cam Rising injury

Rising sustained a hand injury in the winding minutes of the second quarter of Utah's Week 2 game vs. Baylor. The injury came on the run along the Baylor sidelines as he was looking for a receiver. Rising threw the ball away but was pushed into the Baylor water coolers by Bears defensive lineman Treven Ma'ae.

Following an evaluation in the locker room at halftime, Utah's trainers Fox's broadcast showed Rising returning to the field in the second half in street clothes and his middle and ring fingers wrapped up in athletic tape.
