Suicide watch does not always indicate a mental health crisis

A while back, Gene Deal, a former bodyguard for Sean Combs, suggested that the pressure of his current situation might cause him to take his own life. Recently, PEOPLE and other news outlets reported that the music mogul was on suicide watch in the Metropolitan Detention Center.

This led some Virginians to say they suspected Diddy was having a mental health crisis. Dale C. in Roanoke, however, said it was standard procedure to place high-profile inmates who were in solitaire on suicide watch, and E-News Online has confirmed this to be true.

All is well or is it?

Combs' lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told TMZ that after spending hours with the Bad Boy Entertainment founder in federal lockup, he viewed his client as "not at all suicidal," calling him "strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defense."

Beryle E. from Roanoke County says that a lawyer's statement that all is well does not mean that it is. Jane P. from Salem agrees and says that where there is smoke, there may be a fire and all statements should be taken with a grain of salt.
