A South Carolina inmate who died by lethal injection Friday chowed down on a hearty multi-course meal before the Palmetto State carried out its first execution in 13 years.

Freddie Owens, 46, killed Greenville convenience store clerk Irene Graves when she failed to open a safe during a botched robbery in 1997. While on trial, he murdered an inmate at a county jail — stabbing, burning, choking and stomping Christopher Lee — which resulted in Owens’ death sentence.

The Department of Corrections confirmed to The Post Saturday that his last meal was served at lunchtime and included two cheeseburgers, fries, a well-done ribeye steak, six chicken wings, two strawberry sodas and a piece of apple pie.

Following failed attempts to stay his execution, Owens was executed by lethal injection Friday evening . While strapped to the gurney, he reportedly only said “bye” to his attorney.

A medical professional declared him dead at 6:55 p.m., roughly 10 minutes later.

That was the state’s first execution in 13 years due to a lack of available drugs for lethal injections.
