Doug Pederson, Jaguars Gearing for Key Contest Against Bills

Doug Pederson's Super Bowl championship win over Bill Belichick seems to long ago.

Now on his second team in four years, the former Eagles Super Bowl-winning head coach finds himself on the hot seat once again in Jacksonville. It certainly doesn't help that the 0-2 Jaguars have to travel to Western New York against the 2-0 Buffalo Bills.

No team around the league is playing better than Buffalo right now. They dominated their AFC East rival in Miami last Thursday, and have Josh Allen playing at an MVP-caliber level.

Hardly the kind of atmosphere Pederson wants his team to be in, even if they had a good week of practice.

"The energy level, the excitement, the enthusiasm, because really, does anybody like to practice?" Pederson said. "It's practice, right? But the way they approach that. They just focused in on Buffalo and what they need to."

Buffalo is another team with their coach on the hot seat.

Unlike Jacksonville, though, the Bills have responded in a major way to defend their coach's job. At 2-0, Sean McDermott has looked mightily impressive in getting his team to look strong despite a rash of injuries on the defense.

Pederson hasn't had as much luck and it could be a problem if Jacksonville can't pull off an upset Monday night.
