According to the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), mortgage applications surged by 14.2% for the week ending September 13th. The MBA’s weekly survey indicated that the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate dropped to 6.15%, marking the lowest rate in two years and a full percentage point decrease from the previous year.
