( KRON ) — The San Francisco Fire Department was at the scene of a one-alarm commercial building fire at 46 6th Street in the city’s South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the fire at about 4 p.m. At about 5:30 p.m., the fire was tamed, SFFD confirmed with KRON4.

SFFD officials stated that the fire was caused by “discarded smoking materials” from a nearby building that were thrown onto the rooftop of 46 6th St.

Video shows heavy black smoke rising from the building’s roof, with additional fire and police units at the scene. A video posted by SFFD also shows firefighters gaining access to the building via a ladder.

“Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire and evacuate residents,” SFFD said. They have since told KRON4 that no one was injured or displaced. “Residents were evacuated but were let back in accordingly,” SF fire crews said.
