Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton tossed two touchdown passes as the Red Raiders beat the visiting Sun Devils 30-22 in Arizona State's Big 12 conference debut.

Morton hit touchdown passes to tight end Johncarlos Miller II for five yards and to wideout Josh Kelly for 20 yards on the Red Raiders' first two possessions as they got off to a fast start against the stout Sun Devils' defense.

Tech tight end Jalin Conyers also scored on a three-yard touchdown run against this old team on the opening drive of the second half.

The Red Raiders also got three field goals from their alternating kickers. Kicks of 39 and 30 yards from Gino Garcia and one of 40 yards from Reese Burkhardt.

Sun Devils running back Cam Skattebo ran for a pair of three-yard scores, including one with under two minutes in the game. He finished with just 60 yards on the ground but added 117 yards through the air on six catches.

Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks ran for 117 yards on 27 carries and moved into fifth place in the Red Raiders' record books for career rushing yards.

Arizona State has already matched its win totals from the previous two seasons but couldn't get to 4-0 to start the year, but the team has shown significant improvement in coach Kenny Dillingham's second season.

The Sun Devils now enter their bye week before playing their first-ever Big 12 home game against Kansas on Oct. 5. The Red Raiders host Cincinnati on Saturday.
