The Eagles hung tough with the number two team in D2 but eventually were defeated 20-13.

UWL found most of their success through the air as Zach Weir went 17-27 with 216 yards, one touchdown and one interception and his favorite target was once again Jack Studer who turned in a day of 111 yards receiving and seven catches to go along with a score.

GVSU's ground game gave UW-La Crosse fits at times as the Lakers scampered for 187 yards and two touchdowns which was just enough as each team's kicker made two field goals in the matchup.

The Eagles will have a week off then WIAC play begins on October 5 at home against UW-Platteville.
