    Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade steps off Sunday

    Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival steps off today.

    Thousands of marchers and attendees are expected to take part and line the streets of the parade route.

    The parade steps off at Park Street and Park Terrance.

    It will continue east on Park Street and then north on Main Street.

    The parade then winds up at Pearl Street.

    There will be street closures along and near the route, say police.

    It begins at 1:00 p. m.

    Afterward, the Festival del Coqui will take place in Bushnell Park from 2:30 to 9:00 with food, music and entertainment.

    Police advise residents to be aware of the increase in pedestriction and vehicle traffic in the vicinity of the park.
