Church opens Oct. 6 in Phoenix

Rev. Flor Granillo, pastor of Iglesia Aliento and panelist in the Across Documentary Series “When Headlines Cross Borders and Strangers Become Neighbors,” invites the Phoenix community to the official launch of Iglesia Aliento, a United Methodist Church located at 701 S. First St.

The celebration begins 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.

This new ministry supports people who are moving to the Phoenix area by connecting them to community services such as healthcare and food assistance, legal assistance, citizenship classes, finding a place to live and a place to grow their faith.

“Iglesia Aliento is a faith community where people can feel free to bring their questions, their doubts, and their life experiences to the table, allowing them to encounter the love and grace of Christ authentically,” said Granillo.
