CARMEL, Calif. — Poodle Day, an annual celebration that brings together poodle lovers and their four-legged companions, will return to Carmel on October 5, 2024.

The event features a lively parade of poodles and poodle mixes, off-leash beach play, and a variety of evening events, including cocktail parties and dinners.

Carmel, known for its scenic beauty and dog-friendly atmosphere, regularly ranks among Dog Fancy’s top ten dog-friendly cities in the U.S., making it a perfect location for the event. Attendees can enjoy Carmel's many pet-friendly restaurants, shops, and one of California’s most beautiful off-leash beaches.

Poodle Day was founded to celebrate the breed’s family-friendly nature, showcase Carmel as a destination for dog lovers, and raise funds for NorCal Poodle Rescue.

Since its founding in 1985, NorCal Poodle Rescue has provided care and support for poodles and poodle mixes across Northern California and Southern Oregon. Proceeds from Poodle Day will go toward continuing this mission.

This year's event is dedicated to the memory of Patty Moultrop, founder of NorCal Poodle Rescue. Patty, a dedicated poodle breeder and rescuer, was instrumental in shaping the organization’s commitment to helping poodles in need. Her Blue Skies Standard Poodles were widely celebrated, with one, Emma, becoming the logo for Poodle Day.

The event is sponsored by The Crossroads Management Group. You can learn more or make a donation on the Poodle Day website.
