The Big E breaks all-time single day attendance record on Vermont Day

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Saturday was the start of the middle weekend of The Big E, which set a new all-time single-day attendance record with 178,608 fairgoers!

This second Saturday’s record broke the previous single-day attendance record of 177,789 visitors set in 2022. Attendance for 2023 had over 1.4 million visitors, and this year the fair may be on track to bring an even higher total.

The 108th Big E Fair will run from September 13 through September 29 and provide plenty of opportunities to explore its wide variety of food and entertainment. The home of the fair is the Eastern States Exposition, and they are organized as a not-for-profit, educational institution under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

What time do the gates and buildings open?

• The gates open at 8:00 a.m. every day.
• The Big E Bakery is open from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.
• The Buildings and Craft Common is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• The Avenue of States and Storrowton Village Museum & Shops is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• The New England Center is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• The Midway is open Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., and Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
