The FOX Announcing Crew Went Tom Brady Debut-Level Silent When Colorado Fans Rushed The Field After Crazy Win Over Baylor

Much of the heat Tom Brady took for his broadcasting debut
at FOX revolved around his tendency to pause between plays. Brady immediately got better in Week 2, but any sort of lengthy dead air he allowed in during Week 1 paled in comparison to what FOX's college football crew did late Saturday night. The booth tandem of Connor Onion — yes, real surname — and Mark Helfrich powered their systems and voice boxes down once Travis Hunter forced the game-deciding touchback fumble in overtime to lift Colorado to a 38-31 win over Baylor. And that wasn't even the wildest play. Shedeur Sanders connected on an epic Hail Mary pass just to get the Buffaloes to an extra quarter. https://twitter.com/CFBONFOX/status/1837696645762302443 https://twitter.com/CFBONFOX/status/1837700883464741206 https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/1837701743049654314 Baylor may not be quite the formidable adversary as in some recent past years, but that didn't matter. The fans at Folsom Field in Boulder couldn't help themselves but knock down the goal posts and rush the field. Perhaps it was best for Onion and Helfrich to just let the moment breathe. https://twitter.com/CFBONFOX/status/1837701210779873737 https://twitter.com/awfulannouncing/status/1837704058804576714 For me I think the pause was juuuuust a little long. Could've interjected sooner there, fellas. But I get it. Two of the most absurd plays of the entire college football season, made by two superstars who are single-handedly dragging their program into the spotlight and national relevance. Well, with a little help from Deion's star power and transfer portal recruiting know-how, of course. What a rally. Shedeur and Hunter are certainly injecting themselves in the top-five conversation of the 2025 NFL Draft, just as Coach Prime predicted before the season. Really, the thin depth of the quarterback class has Shedeur in the running for QB1 honors, while Hunter's dominance as a receiver and cornerback will likely
allow him to play both ways in the pros . Hunter is a classic can't-miss prospect. While I remain uncertain whether Shedeur's personality and, ahem, leadership style will translate to an NFL locker room, one way he's earning a lot of respect is by how tough he is. That young man is getting bruised, battered, and drilled by defenders on a weekly basis behind that porous Colorado offensive line. The Buffaloes have no choice but to drop Shedeur back and hope he makes magic happen. Unfortunately, it leads to a lot of hits. It must pain Deion on the sidelines to see his son on the ground so often. Fingers crossed Shedeur makes it through the season healthy. Still don't know if I'm rooting for him or not. All I know is, he's one of the most entertaining QBs I've seen at the college level in a long time. And what a scene in Boulder. Good for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLKBWE35FRQ
