Florida’s Winn Dixie to Aldi Transition – Associates Get Early Job Access

If you’ve been following the grocery store shuffle in Florida, you probably know that Aldi made a big move last year, purchasing 400 Winn Dixie stores, with around 75% of them located right here in the Sunshine State. As a result, many of our familiar Winn Dixie locations are slowly turning into Aldi stores. And now, you can add another to the list: the Winn Dixie in Melbourne is the latest one confirmed for a makeover.

    This Melbourne Store?

The Winn Dixie in question is located at 961 E. Eau Gallie Boulevard, and if you’ve ever shopped there, you might know it’s listed as one of the participating kosher stores on the Winn Dixie website. With over 1,800 reviews on Google, the store currently holds a solid 4.2 out of 5-star rating, though not everyone is entirely happy.

What’s Happening with the Aldi Conversion?

According to Gulflive.com, this Melbourne Winn Dixie will be closing in December to begin its transformation into an Aldi. It’s expected to reopen after renovations, giving the store a fresh start under Aldi’s brand.

The good news? Current Winn Dixie employees at this location won’t be left out in the cold. An Aldi spokesperson confirmed that the associates working at the Melbourne store will have the “opportunity to be the first to apply to newly converted Aldi stores.” This might come as a relief, especially since the recent closure of a Winn Dixie in Lakeland resulted in 48 employees losing their jobs.

So, if you’re an Aldi fan or a frequent Winn Dixie shopper, Melbourne’s about to get a little more European with its grocery options – and hopefully, a little fresher too!
