    Lactaid Milk Recalled Over "Risk of Serious or Life-threatening Allergic Reaction"

    Lynnfield, MA (September 19, 2024) – HP Hood LLC has issued a voluntary recall for five SKUs of 96 oz containers of LACTAID Milk due to potential contamination with trace amounts of almond, which is not declared on the product label, the FDA says.

    This recall applies to 96 oz containers of various LACTAID Milk products sold between September 5, 2024, and September 18, 2024, in 27 states, including Alabama, New York, Texas, and California.

    The recall is a precautionary measure after routine maintenance revealed the possibility of almond contamination.

    "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," the Food and Drug Administration says in its recall notice.

    The recall affects containers marked with the code 51-4109 P2 and specific "Best By" dates, which can be found at the center-top area of the packaging. The impacted products include:

    Consumers who purchased these products are advised not to consume them and can return the containers to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange. For more information, consumers can contact Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM ET.
