MONTVILLE, Conn. — In their first playoff appearance in eight years, the Indiana Fever fell to the Connecticut Sun in game one of three.

Connecticut’s defense kept newly named AP Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark relatively inactive during Sunday’s match-up. Kelsey Mitchell filled the void, leading the Fever with 21 points to Clark’s 11.

It was another physical game, especially when it comes to Clark’s interactions with her opponents. She took a hit in the first quarter but shook off the pain and finished the game.

Indiana will keep it parked at the Mohegan Sun Arena for game two this Wednesday night at 7:30. If Indiana pulls off the win in that game, both teams will return to the Circle City for the final game of their round one contest inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse this Friday.
