WATCH: Texas ex Brandon Jones picks off Baker Mayfield

Former Texas defensive back Brandon Jones had a fantastic showing for the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

The Broncos recorded their first win of the season after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 26-7, behind a stellar defensive performance. Denver sacked Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield seven times and recorded an interception, turnover on downs and one fumble recovery.

The former Longhorn is responsible for both the interception and fumble recovery for the Broncos on Sunday.

The Miami Dolphins selected Jones with the No. 70 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the first three seasons of his professional career in Miami before signing with Denver on March 13, 2024.

Jones appeared in 46 games with 35 starts throughout his four-year collegiate career. As a senior in 2019, the safety totaled 86 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one sack.

The Broncos will travel to face the New York Jets next Sunday, where rookie quarterback Bo Nix will have another attempt to record his first NFL touchdown pass.
