    Police: Crash causes closures on South Rosemont Rd. and Lynnhaven Pkwy.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police are investigating a crash on South Rosemont Road and Lynnhaven Parkway.

    South Rosemont was closed to through traffic from Lynnhaven Parkway to Primrose Lane, and Lynnhaven Parkway is closed was both directions from Primrose Lane to Windmill Point Creek Sunday night.

    Motorist were asked to avoid the area/find an alternate route while crews worked to clear the road.

    No details regarding injuries or cause have been released.

    I drive through that intersection about 6:45ish. It looked like a wsr zone. So many police cars, 3 ambulances, 3 fire trucks. It did happen right down the street from the fire station. A black vet, a pick up truck and 2 other cars. You could see emergency lights flashing from nearly a mile away. There was a drone flying overhead. Whatever caused that, I truly hope & pray that all involved are ok.

    This is on my block. I was told by an officer last night that there was a fatality. My condolences to the family 🙏🏿.
