BOWLING GREEN — A celebrated children’s book author and illustrator will discuss her works that were initially published outside the United States during a presentation Sunday at the Wood County District Public Library.

Brenda Dales’ program at 2 p.m. is part of World Kid Lit Month. The books she is to discuss were written in or translated into English, are readily available in many libraries and will be available for checkout afterward at the library at 101 N. Main St. in Bowling Green.

Ms. Dales taught children’s literature at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, for several years and is the only American recipient in 2024 of the Hans Christian Andersen Award, which recognizes “lifelong achievement of an author and an illustrator whose works have a lasting contribution to children’s literature.” She has served on several book selection committees, including the Caldecott Committee.

    No registration is required.
