Lamar Jackson Faces Major Backlash for Postgame Comment

The Baltimore Ravens (1-2) dominated nearly every moment of the game until the fourth quarter on Sunday evening, nearly squandering a 22-point lead to the Dallas Cowboys (1-2) due to poor clock management and execution. However, they managed to hold on for a 28-25 victory, securing their first win of the year.

Led by Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, the Ravens combined for over 238 yards on the ground—151 from Henry and 87 from Jackson. They dominated in just about every facer of the game.

Despite the urgency for the Ravens to win, which Jackson acknowledged, he faced some backlash for his postgame comments on Sunday.

"We needed it bad. I believe some people was on suicide watch." Jackson said.

In context, Jackson likely had no ill intentions behind the comment—just a poor choice of words—but it still didn’t sit right with some, and caused some major backlash.

"Yeah they're gonna make him apologize for that one lol" One fan commented.

"They gonna make him apologize no doubt about it" Another posted .

"he boutta get fined." Another fan said .

"Lamar Jackson making a joke about suicide when it came to the Ravens needing a win was an embarrassment. And Tom Rinaldi laughing in the background is the cherry on top. Do better" One more posted .

Nonetheless, it has certainly struck a chord with some, and it will be interesting to see if it’s addressed this week as the Ravens prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football.
