1 killed, 1 injured in Birmingham shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on the 700 block of 81st Place South on Sunday evening.

Police confirm an adult man and a woman were found shot at the scene around 9:30 p.m. The male victim was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman is said to have life-threatening injuries.

“Witnesses are coming forward. Witnesses have been helpful and we just need anyone who has information to continue feeding our officers with that information,” said Officer Truman Fitzgerald with BPD.
