    MIDDLE SCHOOL: DASH adds 2 more wins to total

    The Downeast Association of Sports for Homeschoolers (DASH) put together sweeps of its volleyball opponents on consecutive days, spilling Johnston Charter on Thursday and topping Community Christian on Friday.

    In the United’s 25-12, 25-15 victory over Johnston Charter at Daniels Chapel Church on Thursday, Layla Bridgers and Brooklyn Aldrich each served five aces to go with a kill while Katelyn Daniels served four aces among her eight points.

    Jailyn Ange had the hot hand from the service line in the 25-19, 25-16 victory over DASH at Peace Church on Friday, serving 12 aces to go with a kill and a block. Bridgers had two aces, two kills and a block while Daniels added four aces.

    DASH will host Wilson Christian at Daniels Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

    BOYS SOCCER

    Vikings stop Bucks 4-1

    With rain forcing perhaps the first boys soccer game played on a Friday in Elm City Middle history, the Vikings outlasted visiting Forest Hills 4-1 on Sept. 20.

    The Vikings, now 2-0, got two goals from Braxton Mayo and one each from Lee Jackson and Corbin Adams. Mayo and Garrett had an assist each while Griffin Lamm made three saves in goal. No individual information for Forest Hills was available.

    Elm City will play at unbeaten Springfield on Monday, Sept. 23.
