Man dies after being thrown from motorcycle, hit by vehicle on Interstate 73 near Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — All lanes of Interstate 73 North were closed as the result of a crash with injuries, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

The crash happened near Exit 100 for Gate City Boulevard. Police responded around 6:20 a.m.

Traffic camera footage showed heavy congestion on I-73 North as a result of the crash.

Police were at the scene investigating for several hours.

Joshua Bailey, 36, of Greensboro, was going north on Interstate 73 on a Suzuki motorcycle and was struck by a 2007 Acura.

Bailey was thrown from the motorcycle and onto the road where another vehicle hit him. He died at the scene.

No charges have been filed. An investigation is being conducted by the GPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
