The Voice kicks off its 26th season tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 23.) With only defending champion Reba McEntire returning from last season, viewers are eager to see what newcomer coaches Snoop Dogg and Michael Buble will bring to the table. One contestant’s blind audition already has all four coaches fighting over who gets him on their team. And Snoop Dogg has demonstrated that he will be pulling out all the stops.

Snoop Dogg: “You Can Be With the Best”

A preview from the upcoming season shows The Voice hopeful Sofronio Vasquez performing Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down” as his blind audition. The Phillipines-born singer needed less than 10 seconds to convince Snoop Dogg. The “Gin and Juice” rapper was the first to smash his red button, closely followed by Reba, Buble, and Gwen Stefani.

Heading into battle, all coaches heaped praise on Vasquez. Reba praised his voice as “like butter.” Stefani declared the blind audition a “GRAMMY performance.” And Bublé kept it simple: “Dude, I’ve got goosebumps.”

Then it was Snoop Dogg’s turn. “Now that you’ve heard the rest, you can hear the best,” said the West Coast legend, 52.

He removed the Death Row Records chain from around his neck. “Nonetheless,” he continued, “you can be with the best and have this laying on your chest.”

Viewers will have to tune in to NBC tomorrow at 7 p.m. Central to see if Snoop’s ploy worked. But personally, we like his chances.

Snoop Says Reba “Is the One We Fear the Most”

Reba McEntire returns to The Voice fresh off her first-ever win with Asher HaVon. And according to Snoop Dogg, she hasn’t let any of her fellow coaches forget that.

“She’s a magnet for talent… Reba Magnet-tire, that’s what we call her on the set,” Snoop said in a season 26 promo.

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper was brimming with praise for his fellow coach, whom he called “the national treasure of the show.”

“She’s the one that we fear the most, and she loves bragging about how she won last year,” Snoop Dogg said.
