Northwestern's Morgan Ervin voted Ashland Times-Gazette Athlete of the Week

Northwestern volleyball player Morgan Ervin was voted as the Ashland Times-Gazette Athlete of the Week from September 16-21.

The poll ran from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Ervin had 30 digs in a five-set loss to Waynedale last Monday and reached 1,000 digs for her career on the night.

Morgan Ervin, Northwestern volleyball

During the Huskies' five-set loss (18-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22,10-15) to Waynedale on Monday, Ervin had 30 digs and reached 1,000 digs for her career.

Brody Sword, New London golf

At the Firelands Conference tournament on Thursday at Brookside Golf Course in Ashland, Sword shot a tournament-low 77 that earned him a medal, and helped lead the Wildcats to the overall Firelands Conference title. Sword was also named Conference Player of the Year for the season.

Tyson Ringler, Crestview football

In Crestview's 67-0 road win against New London on Friday, Ringler scored a 60-yard kick return for a touchdown, caught one touchdown catch and secured an interception.
