Lizzo Discusses Allegations on Using Ozempic

Last Friday, September 20, 2024, Lizzo responded to social media allegations that she was using ozempic, the weight loss drug, after she shared videos of her transformational lose weight.

Lizzo captioned an Instagram video of herself saying “When you get Ozempic allegations after five months of calorie deficit and weight training.”

Also, the carousel had a screenshot of a follower who commented on one of her Instagram posts, saying ‘Did she snort coke or use Ozempic?’ Lizzo promptly responded, ‘Why do you follow me?’

Just a few days earlier, she shared social media clips of herself working out hard at the gym. The clips featured her sharing before-and-after photos of her transformational weight loss, all while modelling Yitty, her shapewear brand. 

In recent weeks, the hitmaker has been giving her fans a peek into her fitness regimen. In one post on August 25th she revealed that she is “taking a gap year,” and shared footage from Bali, where she was witnessed jumping rope on her balcony.

Right before the summer, Lizzo offered an update on her mental health, a subject she has been honest about amid public scrutiny and harassment allegations. 

According to Lizzo, she is the happiest she has been in ten months. And added that the weird thing about depression is that you do not know you are in it until you are out of it. Lizzo says, ‘I’m not as carefree as I used to be. But the dark cloud that followed me is clearing up.’
