DAGSBORO — The town’s sixth Night Out on Oct. 8 will include a chicken barbecue hosted by the police department, with proceeds supporting veterinarian fees, food, equipment and toys for Buzz, the agency’s K-9.

“He can be an expensive boy sometimes. We still love him for it,” Chief Nicholas Disciullo said.

The gathering is set for the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department on Clayton Street from 5-7 p.m.

Night Out will also offer door prizes, free hot dogs and sodas, music, displays, bike raffles for three age groups and more.

“We’ll have a lot of law enforcement agencies there, and we’ll have a lot of businesses, similar to last year,” Chief Disciullo said.

Town administrator Cindi Brought added that a variety of vendors will be on display.

The event is being presented by sponsors Marvel’s Portable Welding & Heavy Equipment Repair, Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek and Jayne’s Reliable.

At the barbecue, platters will include a chicken quarter, a roll, a pickle slice, a bag of chips and a nonalcoholic beverage. They will be $10 if ordered in advance and $12 on-site. Visit dagsboro-police-department.square.site to order.

Chief Disciullo said drive-thru pickups will likely begin before 5.

The website also has a link to donate to the department’s K-9 program.
