72-year-old, 18-year-old die after head-on crash in Manitowoc County Friday morning

MANITOWOC COUNTY – A two-vehicle crash in Manitowoc County early Friday morning has claimed the lives of two people.

72-year-old Kenneth Puetz from Kiel and Anthony Mahloch, 18, of Malone died following the head-on collision near County X and Louis Corners Road in the township of Schleswig.

According to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Puetz was pronounced dead at the scene while Mahloch succumbed to injuries after being transported to the hospital.

A preliminary investigation revealed Mahloch was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on County X when he collided with Puetz’s 2018 Ford Focus, which was traveling westbound.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information was released.
