    Fresno Police issue 206 citations in bicycle, pedestrian safety operation

    FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The Fresno Police Department says they issued 206 citations for a variety of violations during a bicycle and pedestrian safety operation Saturday.

    The city-wide enforcement operation in Fresno started at noon and concluded at 10:00 p.m.

    41 pedestrians and cyclists were cited for various code violations. 169 drivers were contacted during this safety enforcement operation, according to police.

    The Fresno Police Department will be holding another bicycle and pedestrian safety operation in November.

    Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
