Authorities with the Sioux Falls Police Department say they've arrested one man after a Sunday evening fight that left one man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Robin Swallow, 32, was booked early Monday morning into the Minnehaha County Jail and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping and robbery.

Department spokesman Sam Clemens said officers were called at 5:30 p.m. to an address near the intersection of East 12th Street and South Cleveland Avenue.

A number of people had been drinking in a wooded area nearby when Swallow and a 64-year-old man got into a disagreement, which eventually led to Swallow allegedly beating up the victim "pretty substantially," Clemens said.

Officers determined who their suspect was shortly after arriving at the scene, Clemens said. They located Swallow a few blocks away. Clemens said the robbery charge was related to the taking of an item of the victim's clothing.

The kidnapping charge stemmed from the suspect allegedly taking a wheelchair-bound witness away from the scene against her will. The victim was a 33-year-old woman from Sioux Falls, and no weapons were used or displayed, Clemens said. She was not injured.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, and Clemens said he had no update on his condition as of Monday morning.

call me a bad parent but if I found drugs or a gun in my kids possession I wouldn't hesitate to have them arrested so they could see what life is like behind bars and then imagine the rest of their life behind them or dead!
