Cruise passengers often wonder what life is like for the crew. Where do they eat? What do they do for fun? Where can they hang out?

And while some crew can be seen in their off time in passenger areas of the ship, there is an exlusive areas on most ships that is reserved for those working for the cruise line.

According to The Street, a crew member on Icon of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship, has filmed some of these areas to show what it's like for the crew when they're not working.

The video, by Chris Wong of Chris Wong Vlogs, starts with a glimpse of the crew enjoying a special appreciation dinner in the Wind Jammer restaurant.

Ice sculptures, a wide variety of cuisines, and spacious seating can be seen for this special event, although Wong admits it's not always this elaborate of a spread.

The video then goes on a tour of the Icon of the Seas crew neighborhood, a spacious and amenity-filled area designed for the comfort and entertainment of the ship's staff.

The crew cafe, known as Java Cafe, offers a place to unwind with coffee, board games, TVs, and multiple chill-out areas. A separate crew bar provides a more lively option for socializing.

For fitness enthusiasts, the crew fitness center boasts bright décor, modern equipment, and surpasses previous gyms on Royal Caribbean ships according to the crew member.

For video game enthusiasts, there's even a dedicated crew gaming lounge with PlayStations and Xboxes.

A crew barber shop keeps crew members looking their best, while ATMs and kiosks allow for easy access to cash and managing Seapass card accounts. A designated smoking patio with a view offers a dedicated space for smokers as well.

The crew member did acknowledge there are confidential areas not shown in the video, so we assume he had permission to video the areas that were seen.

Wong said in the video that this is "by far the best crew area" he's seen. And as the largest ship and one of the newest ships, it sets a pretty high standard that will be hard for other ships to match.
