Ohio widow has ‘miracle’ baby after husband’s tragic death

(WJW) – A woman from Ohio has welcomed a healthy baby boy, who she believes was conceived after her husband’s tragic death.

Nate and Mariana Kuhlman, who were from Steubenville, Ohio, celebrated their wedding on Oct. 28, 2023, before traveling to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.

According to Fox 8 News sister station WTRF , Nate died in a water skiing accident on Oct. 31.

According to the National Catholic Register , Mariana and her family prayed for a miracle after Nate’s death.

Now, Mariana is the mother of Raphael Patrick, who was born on July 18, 2024.

About one month after he husband’s death, on Thanksgiving Day, Mariana found out she was pregnant with Nate’s child, the National Catholic Register said.

On Jan. 14, 2024, Mariana made the announcement of her pregnancy on Instagram , while also wishing her late husband a happy birthday.

“Happy birthday my angel Since the first day I met you I always told you how much of a blessing and gift you were to my life. And that is still true to this day! To be loved by you is everything and more I ever dreamed of. You are truly the prince charming in the story of my life. And in the epic love that we shared, God has given us, given me, the greatest gift of my life,” Mariana said on Instagram . “Clearly, God had a plan bigger than anything we could have ever imagined. He answered our prayers, and prayers of those around the world, just in a different way than we had expected, but still the GIFT OF LIFE; the miracle we are so overjoyed to finally share with you all.💗 This is our gift to you as Nathaniel celebrates his first birthday in heaven🥳 i hope this news brings you as much joy as it has brought to our family.”

According to the National Catholic Register , Mariana was using an app to track here menstrual cycle, which showed she ovulated days before her wedding.

After Mariana gave birth in July, she announced Raphael Patrick on Instagram saying in part, “Nate, our son is here! I cannot believe it, thank you for carrying me through one of the hardest days of my life! But the reward of holding our son in my arms was obviously so worth it! I know you’ll be praying for him, for us each and every day, and he will know without a doubt how much his father loves him! We’ll feel your love in the sunshine, in the rain, in the breeze and the butterflies we see.”
