You can help name three city of Olympia sites under development if you act quickly.

The city of Olympia is asking for name ideas for The Olympia Armory, Yelm Highway Community Park (where Spooners U Pick berry fields used to be), and Kaiser Woods Park.

The final deadline to suggest a permanent name on the Engage Olympia website is Friday, Sept. 27. The city asks that suggestions consider history, culture, past contributions, area features, and the nearby and wider community.

As of Monday morning, the city had received only a few dozen suggestions, including some less serious ones such as Parky McParkface.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) will host a public hearing at 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Olympia Armory, 515 Eastside St SE, to review and gather public comment on suggested names. PRAC will then make recommendations to the Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department to present to the City Council, who will make the final selections.

Another huge parcel of farm land gone just. And it looks like they also wiped out some woods as well.
