When it comes time to choose a spot for dinner, this Scappoose staple is always a hit.

Be it a slice of the bacon cheeseburger pizza or an order of sweet potato fries, Fultano’s in Scappoose has a little something for everyone. Prioritizing consistent food, clean restaurants and great service, Fultano’s has served good eats in Columbia County for decades.

Owner Toby Harris and his wife, Kara, own two of the seven Fultano’s locations, running both the Scappoose and Clatskanie restaurants. The Clatskanie restaurant has been around since 1977, but after finding success at the first location, Harris saw a way to grow in Scappoose.

“We enjoyed serving our guests in Clatskanie and saw Scappoose as a great opportunity to expand our business,” Harris said.

Thus, the Scappoose Fultano’s was born, opening at 51511 S.E. Second St. in 2012 and quickly becoming a local favorite. Harris said he is “humbled and grateful” for the community support the restaurant has received over the years.

“We enjoy the clientele here,” Harris said. “Our customers are wonderful and make us feel good about what we bring to Scappoose.”

With an extensive menu, Fultano’s is the perfect place for when you just can’t decide what you’re in the mood for. The menu offers more than just pizza, pasta, burgers and salads, but an end to the bickering in the battle of tastes preceding family dinners. Fultano’s even has a dessert menu, serving Oregon-made Ruby Jewell ice cream sandwiches in a variety of flavors.

The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and is closed on Sunday. Don’t miss the $15.95 lunch special from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays, which offers all-you-can-eat pizza, cinnamon breadsticks, soda and access to the salad bar.

Can’t make it in? Not a problem — Fultano’s delivers, and orders can be placed online.

Harris said the secret to Fultano’s success is simple: Treat people well.

“We make doing the right thing and valuing our team as a priority,” he said. “Profits take care of themselves when we value both our staff and our customers.”

In such a difficult and competitive industry, the contributions of staff are what can make or break a restaurant. Harris understands that, and strives to make the employees at Fultano’s feel valued and respected.

“The restaurant industry is hard,” Harris said. “Any success we have is due to a team that makes serving their guests an important part of our culture, and in our opinion, we have the best team in Columbia County.”
