COLLEGE PARK, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The City of College Park is seeking donations to help stock the Animal Welfare Department’s Pet Food Pantry.

The pantry is currently empty and needs help providing pet food and supplies to residents – and furry friends – in need. There are two donation bins in the lobbies of City Hall and Davis Hall.

The only guidelines to donate are that pet food is unopened and bedding and toys are gently used and cleaned.

Residents are especially in need of dry and wet cat and dog food, treats and toys, gently used bedding, cat litter and puppy pads, pet bowls, carriers and pet crates.

The city noted that it cannot accept any pet medication.
