Man dies in Toledo hospital after being struck by vehicle

A Toledo man who was struck by a vehicle Thursday while crossing Cherry Street outside Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center has died, Toledo police said Monday.

Justin Williams, 40, of the 600 block of Stickney Avenue, was taken to St. Vincent, where he later died, according to a police report. The date and time of death were not reported.

Mr. Williams stepped off a sidewalk in the 2200 block of Cherry about 10:12 p.m. and was struck by the vehicle as he began crossing the street.

The driver of the vehicle, James Stabowski, 71, of Alliance, Ohio, was not injured, according to the report.

The incident remains under investigation by police, who released no additional information Monday night.
