Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and head coach Dave Canales' encounter is turning heads following the team's 36-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

After the Panthers' 0-2 start to the 2024 NFL season, Canales announced before Week 3's game that he would be benching Young, the 2023 No. 1 overall pick, in favor of backup quarterback Andy Dalton.

Dalton, the 14-year veteran, didn't take the opportunity lightly. In the win, he threw for 319 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

His performance would mark the first time a quarterback would pass for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in an NFL game this season.

As the team celebrated returning to the locker room, Canales took time to embrace each of his players.

When it was Bryce Young’s turn, the rookie made sure to give Canales a quick hug after his first victory as an NFL head coach.

It's undoubtedly a tough situation for Young, but he's acted like a true professional through it all. He even took accountability when talking to the media before the game.

"Last year and these first two games for the most part every snap has hit my hands and I didn't do enough with it at the end of the day," Young said . "I take accountability for that."

Young then said that he will continue striving to improve.

"There are plays and a long list of things that I wish I was better at, and I'm going to continue to work and grow and be better at them," he added. "I'm always going to look in the mirror."

Regardless of the relationship between Young and Canales, fans will always have their opinions, and some even took to social media to share them.

"Why is Canales hugging Bryce?? He thinks he's a bust and wants him gone," one fan wrote.

"Everyone excited about the dub except Bryce," said a fan. "😅😅😅."

"That's all it takes kid," added another. "Get right and come back stronger. You see what your teammates can do now."

    "This!!!!" said a fan.

"This was a wake up call to Bryce," a fan wrote. "I hope he hears it loud and clear."

"Let Him Learn hope the trade rumors goes away 💯," another added.

"True players coach," said a fan.

Before Sunday's win, Young had been the team's starter in 18 of the last 19 games dating back to last season's opener. In those 18 games, the team's record was 2-16.

On the other hand, Dalton made his first start since Week 3 of the 2023 season when he filled in for the injured Young.

The Panthers will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. Kickoff on Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Fox.

Bryce needs to slow down, and retain some of things they teaching him, he can't read a defense and Dalton can. they should have started Dalton from the start. I've always said it was a bad coaching decision for canales to sit his starters for most of the preseason. Bryce needed all the reps he could get, especially after the season he had last year. the Panthers looked like a completely different team with Dalton out there. they won, and they actually looked pretty good doing it. Bryce will benefit from Dalton starting.

Bryce Young is never going to make a good NFL quarterback. Trevor Lawrence is getting ready to be the next bust in the NFL. I think on drafting college quarterbacks, you win some you lose some. Panthers need to realize they need to retail him off their roster. I think even fourth and six round picks would be worth it. I know they're going to lose a ton of money. However, that's what happens when you put too much emphasis on certain players coming out of the draft. I think a lot of NFL teams are going to realize that having a veteran under center is the way to go. I think it's funny look at all the ex Carolina Panthers veterans they gave up on. O'Donnell's doing good for Minnesota, Mayfield's doing good for Tampa. I think it's like the old saying a bird in the bush is better than a bird in the hand.
