West Ottawa Athletic Hall of Fame announces Class of 2024, banquet

The West Ottawa High School Athletic Hall of Fame will celebrate its 25th year with a special induction ceremony.

The ceremony will take place Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at the new West Ottawa Performing Arts Auditorium, 3685 Butternut Dr., Holland.

To make a reservation for the induction banquet, call the West Ottawa athletic office at 616-786-1118 between 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by the end of the day on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The Class of 2024 includes Ato Condelee, Cortney Lokker, Ron Allen and Karen Dykema.

Condelee was the Division 1 state champion in the long jump and state runner-up in the high jump as a senior and was Holland Sentinel Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year. In addition to being all-state in track and field multiple years, he was a standout football and basketball player. He went on to play football at Ferris State University.

Lokker was an all-state volleyball player and two-time Holland Sentinel Volleyball Player of the Year before playing at Grand Valley State and helping the Lakers to the NCAA championship. She also was an all-conference basketball player and coached volleyball at West Ottawa for several years.

Allen was a longtime athletic director, while Dykema is in her 30th year as athletic secretary.
