Where's Swift? Pop Star Noticeably Absent from Chiefs 22-17 Win over Falcons

At least compared to the first two weeks of the season, Sunday's night game wasn't anything out of the ordinary for the Kansas City Chiefs . They pulled out a 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on the road after overcoming a one-point deficit at half-time.

You could almost say it was just another game for the Chiefs. Well, nearly one thing was missing from the Sunday primetime game: pop star and girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift.

At least, based on the NBC Sports broadcast, the 34-year-old was not in attendance inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as has become customary. After being at both of the Chiefs' first two games, she was absent from the broadcast, as they never once panned over to a suite in the stadium where Kelce's girlfriend could be seen looking on.

And while that may be a storyline and the extra pomp and circumstance that most fans could do without, it was noteworthy.

However, even while Swift was not in attendance, her absence didn't seem to change the fact that Kelce wasn't involved much in the Chiefs' passing attack. On Sunday, Kelce caught just four passes for 30 yards.

The rather forgettable day now brings his season totals to just 69 yards on eight catches through three games. At 34 years old, this slow start will certainly prompt questions about whether he is at the beginning of a statistical decline. Or has he been the victim of three strong defensive game plans?

The Chiefs will likely hope for the latter, as that is something they can control at least as they head into their next game against the Los Angeles Chargers . Kickoff inside SoFi Stadium is set for 4:25 p.m. next Sunday as the Chiefs will look to get the better of their AFC West rival.
