    3 Valley schools recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools

    RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The U.S. Department of Education has recognized three Rio Grande Valley schools as 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools.

    The schools were BRYSS Academy and Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success in Brownsville and F. J. Scott Elementary in Roma.

    The National Blue Ribbon Schools is an award program that honors high-performing schools and schools that make great strides in closing achievement gaps.

    356 U.S. schools earned this honor, with only 31 Texas schools named 2024 Blue Ribbon Schools.
