‘Situation resolved’ after gunfire reported on VCU campus

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Gunfire was reported on Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) campus in Richmond late Monday night.

As of 11:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, officers with VCU Police was investigating a report of gunfire on Broad Street in Richmond.

The address given by VCU Police in its Monday night alert was “325 N. Broad Street.” As of the time of reporting, it’s not clear if the address was meant to be 325 East Broad St. or 325 West Broad St., instead.

VCU Police asked that the public avoid the area as the investigation was carried out.

At 11:45 p.m., VCU Police released an update saying that the situation was resolved.
