Sparta Girls Tennis has Two Standout Performances in 3-2 Loss to Morris Hills

SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta girls tennis team lost a close one to Morris Hills on Monday 3-2. Highlights of the match:

Playing at third singles, Emily Dondero took play to a super tiebreaker in the third set for the win. Her scores were 2-6, 6-2, 10-6.

It was a super tiebreaker for Maureen Gaines and Emilie Fagen who took the first doubles 6-1, 4-6 and 10-6.

In the previous game at Mendham, Dondero won in three sets battleing 4-6, 7-5, 10-6.

The girls record is 1-8. They will host Newton on Tuesday, Morristown on Wednesday and Vernon on Friday.
