Deputies in San Joaquin County picked up a man on suspicion of multiple burglaries, the Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

On Saturday, a deputy responded to a burglary report in the 3000 block of N. Beecher Road in Stockton. The resident at that address had died in April and his daughter had been cleaning out the property. She had arrived that day and found the place ransacked, with a broken window and missing property.

Investigators said they used forensic tools to identify Jose Guadelupe Rodriguez Castellano as the suspect in this case. Castellano is a former inmate of the county jail and is on probation. According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, he was supposed to turn himself in to authorities on Monday for another matter.

A deputy located Castellano to question him, and he allegedly admitted to taking part in the burglary. A probation search of his residence was carried out, and though deputies say nothing there tied him to the N. Beecher Road residence, it allegedly revealed drawers full of personal identifying information and mail belonging to at least 25 people.

Castellano was booked into the San Joaquin County jail on suspicion of burglary.
