    Cambridge man arrested for assault in Easton

    EASTON — A Cambridge man was arrested Sept. 19 on assault charges for two separate incidents.

    According to a news release from the Easton Police Department, Bruce Wilson, 33, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a violent crime, illegal possession of a firearm and giving false statements to an officer. Wilson was also charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in a second indictment.

    Police said on Dec. 5, officers responded to an apartment complex on Lauren Lane in Easton in reference to Wilson choking and assaulting a woman. Police said officers found signs of injury on the victim.

    On Aug. 16, Easton officers were again dispatched to the apartments on Lauren Lane after dispatchers heard screaming between a man and woman on a phone call. Police said the man on the call could be heard threatening to kill someone.

    Upon arrival, officers made contact with the woman and Wilson, police said.

    According to the news release, investigation revealed Wilson had assaulted the woman and was in possession of a firearm, which he is prohibited from possessing.

    Police said Wilson is in custody at the Talbot County Detention Center.
