Bucks County has a diverse array of amazing eateries to choose from — whether you’re looking to try out that new food truck you heard about or you’re craving a delicious meal from your favorite go-to spot.

But how do you make sure you’ll have a safe experience?

Health inspection reports can be a helpful resource to avoid unhealthy conditions.

Keep in mind, however, that one good or bad report on its own is only a part of the bigger picture, said Phil Smith, Bucks County Environmental Health Bureau director.

“It is only a snapshot of what we saw that day. If you want to know how a restaurant is, look over three years’ worth of inspection reports to get a better idea of a restaurant’s long-term performance,” Smith said.

As a service to our readers, we will be publishing a weekly list of the most recent restaurant, bar and food truck inspections to help you avoid some of the pitfalls of dining out.

Here’s a breakdown of the latest reports:

Al-Azeez Grill, Bensalem

Four violations reported Sept. 11. The following reported items are considered high-risk violations:

Packaged raw meat was placed on top of a container of food in the walk-in. Raw animal product in a prep unit was above and adjacent to containers of vegetables. Corrected on-site.
Two dead mice were observed on a glue board in an unfinished utility closet. Droppings were observed on a lower shelf in rear kitchen.

A steam table was showing signs of inconsistency with heating/keeping foods at a safe temperature. The au jus, braised beef and marinara sauce were ranging temperatures between 109-144 F. Hot food must be held at 135 F or above.
