Students at Crichton Elementary want “S’more” summer!

CRICHTON W.Va. (WVDN) – On Friday, Sept. 20, parents and students worked together to kick off their One Book, One School initiative. This year’s book is “Sideway Stories From Wayside Schools.”

Parent volunteers read the first chapter from the book as they sat picnic style to listen and enjoy. After listening to the story, students went with their parent volunteers to complete a small craft based on the part of the story that they read.

Last, students and parents got to enjoy (pretend roasting) some delicious smores. Stephanie Blankenship, the Title 1 teacher at Crichton, who is also the parent involvement coordinator, helped put this fun activity together for students and parents.
